Instructional Technology Grants from OIT

OIT offers Graduate Teaching Associates and Assistants (GTAs) an opportunity to receive a GTA@OIT Grant, which includes one-on-one instructional design consulting, Technology-Enhanced Classroom (TEC) training, and help in using Online@UT (Blackboard Learn) features including: communication, assessment, and evaluation. The spring 2016 deadline is Friday, March 4. For more information, visit GTA@OIT.

Responsible Conduct of Research Series

Due to a growing need for individuals needing enhanced and ongoing training related to Responsible Conduct of Research, the Office of Research and Engagement has launched a new lunch and learn series in partnership with the Graduate School and Library. This series includes 6 sessions over the course of the spring 2016 term. All sessions will take place from noon to 1, with pizza available for registered participants starting at 11:30. The next session is scheduled for February 19, on Research Animals and their Care/Oversight, held in the Hodges Library Auditorium. Participants are encouraged to register with the Office of Research and Engagement.

Upcoming Deadlines

Feb. 1, 2016

All international applicants seeking admission to the Graduate School for fall 2016 must submit their applications by this date. See the Admission Guide for Graduate International Students for application details.

Feb. 26, 2016

Master's and Doctoral candidates wishing to graduate in spring 2016 must submit their thesis or dissertation for preliminary review by the Thesis/Dissertation Consultant. Contact thesis@utk.edu for submission instructions.

Mar. 31, 2016

Doctoral candidates wishing to graduate in spring 2016 must submit their Scheduling of Defense of Dissertation form to the Graduate School by this date.

Apr. 7, 2016

Master's and Doctoral candidates wishing to graduate in spring 2016 must defend their thesis or dissertation by this date. Thesis candidates must schedule the defense through their department one week prior to the date of the defense. Doctoral canddiates must submit their Scheduling of Defense of Dissertation form to the Graduate School by March 31, 2016 (see above).

Apr. 7, 2016

Candidates in a non-thesis program must take their final examination by this date. These candidates must be sure to pay an examination fee, if they are not registered for classes in spring 2016.
